Launch & Setup
The 30-Minute Store Launch Blueprint
A practical launch checklist for getting a new storefront live without overthinking the details.

Launching an online store can feel incredibly overwhelming. Many entrepreneurs spend months tweaking their logos, adjusting colors, and obsessing over minor details while completely missing out on generating actual revenue. The truth is: perfection is the enemy of progress.
"Done is better than perfect. Your first storefront is a prototype, not a final destination."
Phase 1: The Core Foundation
Start strictly with your primary offering. Do not attempt to launch with a massive catalog of 50+ products unless you already have a mature fulfillment operation. Select your 3-5 best-selling or most compelling items. Give them absolute priority.
High-Quality Imagery
Customers cannot touch your product, so they buy with their eyes. You do not need a DSLR. Natural lighting, a clean background, and a modern smartphone are more than sufficient to create stunning, trustworthy product photography.
Phase 2: Gateway and Logistics
Without a secure way to collect money and a reliable way to deliver the goods, you don't have a business—you have a hobby. In South Africa, setting up a gateway like Paystack or Yoco takes mere minutes. Ensure you have activated it and tested a low-value transaction yourself.
Shipping Expectations
Decide on a flat shipping rate to keep things simple at launch. For example, R99 nationwide delivery via The Courier Guy or Pudo removes the friction of complex weight-based calculations at checkout.
Phase 3: The Launch
Once you have products, payments, and shipping, hit the publish button. Don't wait. Send the link to your immediate network, post about it on your personal social media, and get the critical first feedback loop started.
